SAMCO

The South African Magic Council (SAMCO) was founded in 1985, when the first meeting was held in May of that year.

The aims and purpose of the council are:

	To develop and elevate the art of magic.
	To unify the organization of magic in South Africa.
	To co-ordinate the activities of the member societies and to encourage the exchange of reciprocal aid and services.
	To ensure a National Event is held each year.
	To encourage magicians to strive for an international standard of performance in order to participate in the World Championships.
	To act as official spokesman for magic in South Africa, insofar as the media and public are concerned.

Each year the Annual General Meeting is held during the S.A. National Magic Event. Every three years the S.A. Magic Championships are staged.
